It is very good art, detailed and the like. It is pungent... if that can be used to describe art. It is powerful and revolting but it pulls you in nevertheless. It is great.

Well, you can tell by the face shape that it is splashed all over, kind of when you jump off a building and hit the ground. Is this the eye of a jumper and therefore a "chicken eye"?

Ha, that's pretty cool, but no, it really is a chickens eye. If you go into my gallery on here, there's another image of a chicken with a whole lot of blood coming out of its mouth, and if you look closely you'll notice that this eye and the chickens eye are the same, just this one is more touched up and painted than in the other. I like your explanation better though.
Not shock, shchlock or even gory.
Just different. . . and in some cases different wins, this is one of those cases.

What a great hyperrealist painting! The composition and the colors are perfect. You definitely nailed it! I would hang that in my living room.
