Our manner of degree is FAR from arbitrary.

Some observations:

-- a perfect circle has neither sides nor vertices yet exhibits an inherent hexagonal symmetry
-- each successive ring in the arrangement always increases by six
-- each corner or "spoke" remains a consistent multiple

-- the initial outer/inner relationship starts at 6 + 1 = 7
-- the modern 7-day week (6 days of work, 1 day of rest and reflection) is our only measurement of time that has no apparent celestial counterpart (in contrast to days, months, years, et cetera)
-- the rest of our time measurements can be identified as being related to the movement of heavenly bodies and the multiples of 6

-- from center to surface there are 12 rings of circles that build upon 1 origin circle.
-- "Twelve Signs, One Life" ?
-- "Twelve Tribes, One Nation" ?
-- "Twelve Apostles, One Savior" ?
-- one ring appears less whole than the others ("Judas the Iscariot" ?)
-- one ring appears closer in similarity to the origin than the others ("Judas Didymos Thomas" AKA 'the Twin' ?)

-- the next-to-last ring I chose to identify by its "spokes" only
-- it is the one ring in which each "spoke" displays a doubling of its respective multiple
-- 0 instead of 66... with regard to "what came before The First Thing?" the answer must invariable be either "The Last Thing" or "No Thing At All"
-- 11:11 stack... the pressure of "is" versus "is-not" rises towards the surface

-- The outermost ring, which is also most identical to the origin, is numbered 72
-- "72 Virgins of Paradise" ?
-- "72-letter Name of God" / "the 72 Names of God" ?
-- "72 steps of Jacob's Ladder" ?

Look into where we got our base-60 system of measuring spatial and temporal degree and you will find that it goes back to ancient Mesopotamia AKA "the Cradle of Civilization". It was adopted from the Babylonians, who themselves received it from the Sumerians, who in turn got it from... ah. They really don't say. In any case it's of some interest that the oldest records of coded laws comes from these civilizations and that they claim to have received them from divine origins.

People presume that base-60 counting, or 360-degree full circles are either a completely arbitrary decision or carry-overs from ancient tradition. In contrast to these views I believe that the very fact or "being-ness" of the circle is what infers this system of counting. It's true that you can divide a circle in ANY number of ways, but there is one specific way in which it divides ITSELF, and I find that to be highly significant.

There are many systems of numerology which apply qualitative meaning to numbers that go beyond just their quantitative values. It's like "Female Mathematics" almost, in its focus on implicit valuation as opposed to explicit definition. For example, in some systems the number 7 is associated with the Divine whereas the number 6 is more associated with the Material. My own particular interpretation is that 6, the number of man, reveals itself in the physical life... through the passage of time as well as the measurement of space. The number 7 represents the synthesis that TRANSCENDS physicality... what happens when you join the inner with the outer.

The inner without the outer is pure potential that lacks any outward expression, static and unmoving. The outer without the inner is hollow, empty inside, "soulless". They must be integrated.

Three dimensions of 6 is like a Beast. Material focus in the physical, mental, and emotional realms. Three dimensions of 7 is like a Jackpot. Transcendence in the physical, mental, and emotional realms.

That which is Ideal may not presently be Actual... but as a unseen Goal, Pattern, or Mold, it proves itself to be just as much a part of our Conscious Awareness of Reality as anything else.

Shiny,

Reminds me of those multi-colored miniature plastic tubes you could place into a pegboard, then iron over them, and they would melt together just enough to form whatever you wanted to.

Wall of crazy psychobabble text, tl;dr.

But nice art. When will you do a piece based on the Fibonacci Sequence?

Wow.

Very deep, and also an extremely good observation. I never thought of it that way, so thank you for showing me. The art is also very good, the way you arranged the gradient of the colors is very cool, and the ripple on the outer edge of the circle is a good frame to your work. The starry background goes with the thought posted below, and it is good that you tie all of your work in together, text and every part of your picture.

Good Job. 5/5
