So, why haven't they attempted to make a Mario cartoon since DIC's miserable efforts in the late 80s/ early 90s? Sonic's had more than his fair share, but not Mario. Everyone would watch that. I wish I could make it. This is what I'd want to use as my cast of regulars if I ever got to make one. That would be a dream gig. Even if I only got to do it as a comic. What would be really fun is making Mario shorts specifically for the Wii's Nintendo Channel. A boy can dream.

Awesome!!! great work... reminds me of Ren & Stimpy style animation. I agree with you 100% sonic sucks, Mario had one cartoon series way back in the day, mem watching it as a kid it would have been mid to late 80s. keep up the good work and honestly i think you should pitch that cartoon network or some thing... have you seen the crappy cartoons they will pick up and run with. your idea here is better then 75% of the shows on that channel... any how good work my boy.

I really like this piece. It's very classic cartoony! The coloring is great, and the emotions on the characters are priceless.
That said, what's holding you up from making a series anyway? I can honestly say you'll have at least one fan right here!

We all remember play Mario on the NES all the way till now. Mario's legacy will keep going for a very long time. Your picture reminds me why I love playing mario games (and games with Mario in it). Come to think of it... For some reason it reminds me of Mario Party. That was a real fun game. Good times...

Now, it might just be my love of video games, but I find this really awesome. It takes some REAL skill to turn a Japanese video character into an American comic/cartoon character. If this is what your regular art looks like, I completely recommed you try to make flash comics with these guys. Amazing, took some real skill. All in all, great job. (Nothing to complain about.)
Isn't that what Newgrounds is for? I mean, maybe making a flash cartoon series about Mario would be a good start.

You know, the funny thing is, Mario and Sonic do things together now on the Wii, as evidenced by the many games now out, and more to come. Mario is still the single greatest character in all of Video Games. I'm sorry, but without him, we don't have a market out there, if you know what I mean.
Also, another funny thing, on NG it's exactly the opposite; Much more Mario stuff, than Sonic stuff, ironic!
Anyway, nicely done, and yes we will miss Captain Lou, and Soupy.
