Ahhhh, finally done :)
A good 8 odd hours of painting.
I have recently been watching the Spartacus: Blood and Sand series (which btw is amaaaziiinnggg!!) And there was an episode actually called "Thing in the Pit" - and from the title I envisioned a beast that Spartacus would have to fight - (unfortunately this was not the case) - but this however is my depiction of what I thought it would have been :)
I used some references for Gladiator attire to see what Gladiators wore. I thought about giving him a helmet and some shoulder pads, I put some horns on him too but that made him seem less of a brute (the lack of armour suggests he can surely take care of himself ;) ) - and the horns made him seem like a devil or something which isnt what I was going for. I wanted an in-human, human if that makes sense. Originally I did start of painting him just as an ordinary man - but then I got bored and wanted him to look a bit cooler :P - thats when I decided to change it to what I thought the beast was going to look like in that episode.
So yeh, hope you guys like it :)
