I had a lot of fun painting this picture. It was not an ACTUAL reference from a game in terms of composition but different elements from mario have been thrown in.
This is for an upcoming commercial campaign which revolves around gaming (i cant say too much!!). I thought it would be awesome to have a mario level, but with a dark feel to it, but keeping the vibrance and strong colours mario games have :D

That piranha plant looks so realistic as if its going to pop out and bite my head off, how do you do that it's just so life like and all, I beckon you make a yoshi panting please.
