I have no idea why it took so long for me to do this pic. No, I don't mean drawing the actual pic took a long time, it just took me a long time to find the motivation to do it! I took a knock back on motivation a while ago after a huge commission file I was working on completely fucked up (thats what I get for drawing with Flash) and realising I had to color it ALL OVER AGAIN. I pushed it aside for this well overdue art trade picture with Twisted4000 and his original character, Alula, who he has drawn many a pic of! But when I started, I realised it was closing in on Oct 31st and I had a Halloween movie I wanted to get done, so it suffered another delay xS
But I finally forced my ass down and just went for it. Thats the really the only way I can make drawings or cartoons, thinking about doing it makes it worse, so I just friggin' go for it. I tried to keep it pretty close to the source material. Twisted has mentioned he likes stupid-looking girls (lol) and I can't disagree with him, I personally like the "confused-sad-eyebrows-bu t-still-smiling-anyways" look which I tried here and kinda' failed OH WELL. The gloves needs a bit of explaining too. In his recent drawings of Alula, he gives her long green ones but in older pics, she had short green gloves with a long purple sleeve, I couldn't decide which one I preferred so I went with both! Also tried to go for a dynamic pose in case you're wondering why her head looks so big compared to her feet :S
I think Alula's design is cool, particularly the yellow eyes, plus the heavy use of purple in her outfit seeing as purple is pretty much my favorite color. CHECK OUT TWISTED4000'S PIX OF HER AAAH HOPE U LYK.
