This is a picture that i drew... Actually, this is a redo of a picture that i have drawn...
the first time i draw this character it turned out HORRIBLE... of course... that was over a year ago ^.^
I just decided to redo it.. and give it a bit of a story... XD
I actually think it turned out OK... >.>

Ah, the dramatic splash effect. I really love having lines like that, especially in action scenes. What technique or program did you use to make lines like that? I could never get them to look like that.
Also, things do happen to look so much better when its reworked so you definitely stated that fact here. Maybe I should rework some of my old stuff.>_>
heh, i used manga studio, and they are for Mac's.. in Manga studio they already have custom focus lines(like the ones in this picture) and then there is this thing that pops up and you can change the settings for it. Like how wide to you want the lines, what color (black, white or gray), how big or small you want the lines, ect.
It's very helpful! They also have the speed lines, which only go in one direction.
If you have a mac, i totally suggest getting Manga Studio! :D
