A monster I made for a competition once... It almost came in last -People just don't like drawings that arent colored... :-S

I too prefer uncolored works.
Art is always hard in the aspect of getting reviews since there are just so many things that people can say they dislike, just to say it.
Sure, color is sometimes needed, but for this picture I belive the point gets across without needing it.
I think that the picture quite possibly could even have been ruinied if you had added color, good work here.
I'm not a fan of art competition's for the sole fact that I usually laugh at the art reviewers.

I think this is the is the first pic i have seen rated M because of sheer gore lol
i also like to create images of demons and shit like that, and im now a big fan of yours. this definetly has to be my favorite though. and fuck people who dont like black and white, thats how i roll. keep up the good work bro ;)

The shear brutality is what I love about this! If I saw a creature like that I would dookie myself! That poor fellow! Oh, and awesome drawing man!

The reason this got close to last is because people dont want to see deviantism, they want to see some abstract nothing that they dont even understand but pretend to so that they can tell their friends that they are classy. This is real expression and unless the other entries were by renouned artist it should have done much better. Great job.

The deatail on the skin is awesome, great job on capturing the spittle coming out of the monster's mouth, the blood and organs on the human look stunning. I can almost hear the bones cracking. the touch of fur reminds me that the monster was a remnant of some sort of animal. some drawings just don't need color. i prefer greyscale myself because it allows me to get a bit more detail in those hard to color spots, which is exactly why color drawings are a rarity with me. not to mention greyscale is a great way to play with the light in a setting.
Personally, I prefer greyscale drawings because they have great detail and shading. In color drawings, it's much easier to ignore the principle of shading, and remove some of the more detailed aspects of the art. By the way, is its skin made up of muscle tissue?

Yeah, I know the pain of people not appreciating black and white work.
Again, if you put some pinks in the intestines, the monsters gums and a few other key spots, it could liven this up a little (not that I think its not lively, but for the "other" judges)

While I don't really like the woman being riped apart by the monster, I like that you gave us something to have perspetive with.
I love greyscale, especially when it's used as well as this.
What did you make this with? Draw it, then photoshop? However you did it, it's freaking good, haha!

I personally love greyscale drawings......I find it too easy to cover up mistakes with color, plus, if your really good, the essence of ones' arts' soul is better portrayed by by the emotion and position then some bullshit color scheme

The only things that bother me is his foot size and his hand.

The shading and level of detail is phenomenal, especially on the sinew and those deliciously sharp teeth.

you made a very good use of the dark/light tones here, everything is revealed through the contrasts .even the dismebered guy look realistically thorn apart wich bring this disturbing question... did you saw this for real when you drew this ? i bet you told the big monster : hold on a minute son ...okay keep the pose for a minute and say cheese!
