Acrylics on paper.
Walking along a dark street in a strange town, you turn down a decrepit alleyway. Out of an open doorway the boy stares at you, perfectly still. He says nothing, but his eyes tell a story of hardship, despair, and a plea for help.
You stare for a long moment, then turn away to forget the boy and resume going about your business.
