I actually like the background, its not bad at all. Plus this creature sort of reminds me of that alien from alien homind (very fun game i must say) This is definitly worthy of a nine in my op

This was my first time trying out Photoshop. The background could be better. Meh. Hope ya like it :D

Yea I don't really like the background either, it doesn't fit with the creature you drew. Looks like something you would put on your desktop. But beside that I really like the drawing.
