Newgrounds Mega Man Sprites

Share

While I was working on art for the Madness Day submission MAD-NES, I became fascinated by the sprite shapes and walking cycles of Nes games. I made a bunch of different versions of the Madness characters using sprites from Kirby, Ghosts'n Goblins, Double Dragon, and Metroid for the submission (although most were not used in the final cut), but the game with the sprites that I found most enjoyable to edit was Mega Man. After MAD-NES was submitted I started turning other Newgrounds mascots into Mega Man sprites and eventually made this.

On the right there is a collection of 10 Newgrounds mascots drawn in Mega Man's walking cycle in their original size and in the Nes color palette. On the left is the same collection of characters but resized so that they are more visible.

I would love to have these sprites used in an animation or a game some point, but would need help from programer. If you would like to use these sprites in an animation or game of your own, you can pm me your idea and I'm sure I would love offering them to you along with my services as a pixel artist. I could even create another sprite sheet with the characters actually wielding weapons.

Dude....just...dude....NEWGROUNDS PLATFORMER YOU SAY?!?!

It's damn good! 4.5 stars. Do you think if I credited you, I could use these for a game?

The only real complaint I can think of is how thin Dad or his son, whichever it is, looks. However the thinness makes sense for the sprite, since it's a megaman reskin.

By the way, who is that green guiy at the bottom? Just a generic zombie?

nice good job
