Animated Dragon Cycles

Share

So the teacher wants me to play with a quadruped rig for this coming week's update/review. I got this dragon rig but I've never really goofed around with a quadruped before. Much less one with wings, which can make it a bit more difficult. So, I did a quick walk, flight and taunt cycle tonight (over about 3 or 4 hours) and at one point sort of rage quitting/going on a much needed "walk away before I break something."

Totally open to critique, I am aware of a few things that need fixing. But I'd like to share just on the off chance one of you find something I didn't see or offer something I never thought about doing previously. I'm also playing with the idea of using a different quadruped rig just to get comfortable with animating something with four freaking legs. Much reference is needed :P

looks good, but it looks a bit rough in some places. Great work.

Why this program has no automatic collision detection? Walking cycle looks amazing. Which programs did you use and what do you study?

ShadyDingo responds:

Well generally geometry collision won't really play a factor unless you're working with dynamics in the engine. I used Maya to animate the dragon, the rig (dragon) was found elsewhere and was modeled, textured and rigged by someone else. Thanks for the view :)
