I did this shortly after I was getting over some issues in my life. It's a really near and dear painting to me and is symbolic of a lot of personal situations over the past year. It'll definitely always hold a special place in my heart, not only as an example of my growth as an artist but also a symbol of being able to overcome obstacles and pull through to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Once you overcome those hurdles, you will feel triumphant but you never know: there may be more hurdles lying in wait just over the horizon. Despite what life throws at you, you just gotta keep flying. *nod* =] Hope you all like it.

I think this is a lovely picture. It somewhat reminded me of "Avatar: The Last Airbender". Granted, that might only be because a picture of Aang is in the related stuff. I couldn't help but think this was a reference to some mythology. I can now understand it more that I've read the author's comments. Yeah, those are even important in art pictures.

I just loved the way you depicted such an oppurtunistic world. The shading is absolutely flawless. I'm surprised it does not have a higher rating. I don't know why an arch would be in the middle of the sky, but it's awesome. I hope you have a wonderful life as should I.

This is really special

The palette and composition is pitch-perfect. This is not taking a shot at your painting at all, but was Avatar the last airbender an influence to this painting. I ask this because the child looks very much like him and the fact that he's riding a flying animal.

Thanks! And to be completely honest, Avatar was not in my mind when I was painting this but I actually noticed the similarities when it was done. I'd probably say it may have been a subconscious influence but not intentional. Also, the title I had earlier before I edited was "Avatar - Sozin's Comet" but that was a mistake haha. I have an avatar picture I was going to submit before this one but then I changed my mind and forgot to change the title.
