Here is a polished sample of one of the MANY concept designs I have done for Ortus. This is the design that I drew and will be used for the castle in the city of Silverton in the nation of Candor. Silverton is the city where most of the nobility of Candor dwell. The Guardian of that city (of whom this castle belongs to) is very rich and business like. We chose this castle design for Silverton (out of the several I drew) because the design is all for look. There is not front defence to cover the entry, the towers are placed at the back of the castle which is not usually done unless it is backed onto a wall or if there's a wall around it (I know the wall defines a castle to be a castle and without one it is technically only a keep, and this building which does not have a wall is technically a keep and not a castle of which I am referring to it as, but let's not get caught up on semantics shall we^_^). It is this way purely got look. I feel it gives the castle a more intimidating appearance, especially if you imagine yourself approaching the front door looking at this overarching larger window, flanked by two massive towers behind it, the whole thing bearing over you like it's in a seat of judgment.
I like the finer details in this drawing, like the murderholes, corner stones and the correct structure of the tower embattlements. I'm very pleased with it and I hope you enjoy seeing it in Ortus once it comes out.
