My first fully computer based artwork. I made it to use as an avatar for my name and I am happy with it.

To outline how i did it, I basically googled for pictures of arm chairs and sombreros and brought them into GIMP, cause I'm poor but i like to say I'm down with the GNU Open source thing. With the pictures in gimp as backgrounds, I then added a white layer on top, this is where i did the drawing. With the backround picutres serving as guides, I used the path tool to outline the objects, major lines in black, minor in grey, and used the Stroke to path tool to get my pixelated skeleton. I was going for a 16bit feel but since I'm drawing on a laptop and not a SNES I freely used the gradient tool to give the impression of lighting and to also give my objects dynamic coloring. When i got the individual objects about how i wanted them, I put them on top of each other and overlayed them onto the background. I then made a quick cactus with a pencil and rounded out the picture with a lens flare to be my 1 click solution for a sun.
