Happy Birthday Derek Yu

Share

July 2nd is Derek Yu's birthday so I decided to make a fan art gift dedicating to him, his family, and the games he created such as Spelunky, Aquaria, Eternal Daughter, Quibble Race, ect.

Made this in Gimp in style of Secret of Mana 2 (aka Seiken Densetsu 3 in Japan) while looking at references from Chrome. Took me several hours from daytime to almost 12am in the morning.

This is excellent. I absolutely love spelunky, I've been meaning to try his other games. Happy birthday to Derek Yu!

ScepterDPinoy responds:

Thank you. It's July 3 by the time I post this reply.

Happy Birthday Derek Yu!

Great job on the drawing. I really like how you had all the characters stand on a SNES controller being lifted up by someone. I probably like it because I'm a Nintendo Fan. Well, anyways, good job.

ScepterDPinoy responds:

Thanks. The Snes was my favorite console of my childhood (since it belongs to my cousin back then).
