Game Center CX Kacho ON!

One of my favorite shows from Japan about a middle age man playing very challenging games in a time limit while being broadcast that last from several hours to a few days.

Made entirely out of Gimp. Didn't use MS paint this time.

Also this would be my last art I will upload this year before I move on to make other arts next year.

Wow nice

Now this was really intense I like the colors here it's very vibrant in colors and has some brightness to it it was really good and a nice visual you have here so nice job indeed as for something to improve on her I think adding some sparkles here and there would be cool

Looks like Paul robertson has some competition

ScepterDPinoy responds:

I think Paul Robertson is way better because he makes awesome pixel art than I do. This is just an inspiration. I'm just here to respect other NG users and artists alike.

Wonderful!

ScepterDPinoy responds:

Why thanks.

Are you nuts!? I can't believe I'm seeing this here. Glad to see another Kacho fan. Also great piece you did there, captures almost everything essential in the show although I don't see the prince anywhere. Again great job!

ScepterDPinoy responds:

Thank you. :) I haven't found the sprite for prince yet since I'm using Google search image.

I would say it's undershaded, but I think that the intention is to pull of the EGA look, which it does rather well (Circa 1989-1992 graphics card that could only have 16 colors on screen at a time) I do get the feeling that detail density does still vary a bit too much. The small sprites are beautiful and readable; the larger sprites have large areas of no detail that make them appear more flat. I'm just not sure...particularly about the big pink...thing, the flying famicom and the strips of bacon?

In short: foreground characters are strong; smaller sprites are strong (especially the explosions); but the pink creature seems a little too flat to me. Even with the color restrictions I think its shading could be better handled.

ScepterDPinoy responds:

Why thanks for the tip. Those bacon on the back of the boss was the seaweed in the water level from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game for the nes.
