jeez, 2 hours? i can never work that fast, you beast
A 2 hour value study based on a photo that I cropped down + rotated. Liked the way the photographer captured the shadows over the body so I tried my best to replicate it!

Pretty good recreation of picture, initially I was comment on darkness compared to original but the lower half just below the ribs is a lot darker then the rest of the image. Capture the skin texture feel for 90-95% of the picture, on spot I feel is lacking is on the upper hip seems a little white washed or bleached out. Still great image.
On a side note: Wish I had the time to practice looking at how shadows cast on the human body. To such I point that it seemed like a minor superpower, it was Tuesday, Sept 9 10:37 in Lakeville, Minnesota when this photo was taken.
The lighting values and contours are particularly mesmerizing in the piece :)
Great work!
Stop.
You're hogging all the talent.
Stop it.
Selfish.
(No, I know it's virtually always a matter of investing time & effort [and money ~_~] and we all know you've been paying your dues in every regard for forever. But look at what you can do now! You have superpowers but without all that pesky responsibility crap!
I spent a while comparing the two versions and I enjoyed noticing each new detail having been caught in the drawing: like interesting variances in the darkness of each individual shadow that I would've thought would be an inevitable rough spot in the reproduction but actually being intentional & faithful to the source! So neat! NG thanks you :0
Aw, thanks so much -- what a kind review! c:
