What a scenery.
I have to complain about the fact that this hasn't been front paged yet. Don't worry, I'll go yell at Tom Fulp. :D
Anyways, this does indeed deserve an award because of the incredible amount of detail, and all that jazz. The only thing I would change is the dragon's head. I can imagine that beast just standing up and its head would still look slightly awkward. What I mean is that if you compare this to other dragons, you would notice that there isn't anything like a horn to make it resemble more like a dragon. Most dragons have something like that since it would cover a bit of the crow on the far right side of this art. It doesn't have to be a horn, it could also be long scales.
I also love the background. I can see the details of the dead trees, the sun, etc. It really builds the mood in this.
And now, for the verdict.
Detail: 9/10
Again, the head would be perfect if it had that horn thingy near its right eye. But what do I know about dragons, well done.
Color: 5/5
I like the nice use of red in this art. Good show, ma'am.
Shading: 5/5
Not a spot looks like the same shading. This alone just adds to the detail. Well done.
Overall: 9/10 and 5/5. I expect more greatness from you, Sabtastic!

After reading your explanation, I totally agree with you on that extra horn / long scales detail. I think if I were to have extended the image to be wider or include more of the head, I would have picked up on the missing detail sooner. I usually draw dragons that way, too. Looks weird without some kind of a mane or crest. Thanks for the pointer!

Another epic win...
Great job Sab, I really liked the crows around that makes the image so vivid but brings me a question: how long has she been posing like that since crows are already looking for a lizardy dinner? XD Not really, hehehe, congratulations it is an amazin piece.
Hahahaha! Yeah... That's a good point.
Mind you, I can't blame her for sitting there and waiting for her photo-op. Wouldn't you want a souvenir snapshot after taking down a dragon too? xD
... Yeah, other than that I've got nothin'. Maybe her sword got stuck. haha

What I love about early gifts..
You can never predict what you'll get and I sure didn't expect this awesome piece to land in my inbox at DA!
I simply can't criticize a gift in any way. Love the colouring, the atmosphere, the pose, the "comic bookish" feel, the possible story behind it (dragons are always a plus in my book!).
Now pardon me while I plan my retort to this piece of awesomeness. Game on!
