Iron Fist vs Godzilla

Share

A series of five 15"x24" ink paintings I made for an art course in University.
We were told to choose a couple of toys and tell a story with them, so NATURALLY I chose penguins, Iron Fist (Marvel Comics), and Godzilla (from the 1998 movie). We could paint in either ink, or gouache. I had never used either before.

I put a bit of a 'step by step' on my Tumblr if you're interested in ink painting. It's super fun if you enjoy making a huge mess with your artwork. I enjoyed this project because all I did was throw ink all over the place.

LOVE IT.

Gouache is my favorite to use. If you mess up with it, you can just peel it off!

Sabtastic responds:

Wait, what?? lol Seriously?
Shit, why didn't I use that!

PENGUINS ARE THE BEST!!! GREAT JOB!!!

IRON FIST FTW!!! I really love Iron Fist; such an epic superhero. Oh and great work on the art, it came out amazing, especially that third one.

Sabtastic responds:

lol everybody seems to enjoy the third one the most.
My fav's the last one. Totally framing that sucker.

That's really neat, I've never seen salt used in art before. I agree the 3rd frame is the best.

Also you need a fancier signature.

Sabtastic responds:

lol! The signature... omg I know.
I should get on that. Shouldn't be too hard to design something neat.
