Goodbye, Old friend...

Share

This artwork is dedicated to all of us who have ever lost a pet. Last year I lost both my cat Panda and my dog Princess in a month of difference and the pain one feels when a long-time friend like a pet goes away is very strong.

I'm still experimenting with tecnthiques on Photoshop, now I'm trying to paint without a lineart since is what most artists I look up to that use PS use. Got a bunch of new brushes once more (that I used mostly to the background) and I'm trying to archive a 'watercolor' effect on the character... so far, not very lucky though haha... Paiting without a lineart seems quite hard for me since my management of color isn't the best.

I hope I can keep improving and I find a style that suits me.

This really captures the gloomy mood of grief over the loss of something near and dear to the heart and it kinds of reaches out to everyone and not just pet owners, because everyone will eventually lose not just their pets but their loved ones too.Great work on this and keep it up!

Yours truly,a fellow EX-pet owner who lost two goldfishes,a terrapin and a white rabbit(due to Mother Nature paying a visit in the form of a snake in the backyard.)

Rrachel-chan responds:

Thank you my friend! :) I'm sorry to hear about your rabbit, what a bizarre way to go (I kind of giggled though, made me remember to a friend that lost her tortoise for leaving it on the backyard on winter, and forgot about it... then they find him frozen in place)

It's so touching, just poking out feels. This is a nice tribute to your good friends. RIP
