Herr Knarre

Share

this is "Herr Knarre", which directly may means "Mr. Gun", but the german Word "Knarre" is for all those riddiculous Guns, whose makes weak sounds like empty Peanut-shells dancing in a bucket made of Plastic and whose you cant take serious, no matter how lethal they are.
And maybe he carries exactly one of this in his case.

Cool. I really enjoy the detail on what would seem to be such a cartoonistic concept.

I like your art. It's so bright.

RootsenSneeky responds:

thank you :)

I like this a lot!

the character shape is nice and interesting and I like how small his face is to the rest of his body.
coloring is great.

the only aspect that I dont like are the legs. Everyhting in this has strong form except for the legs. they seem much more cartoony than the rest of the piece.
...
maybe cartoony wasn't the right term. But the rest of the piece seems like a cartoon in a realistic kind of way.

hope that was clear.

RootsenSneeky responds:

Hey guy, thanks. I can comprehend your critic on the stylistic gap between the "realistic" shading of the body and the flat cartoonish legs, but i must admit that i like the confrontation of this different elements, and i mean: take a look at his hat. objectively, THIS is the most cartoonish part, because it hasn't any shader and the shape is even interrupted by nothing. But Okay, for you the hat works and the legs don't. that's completely possible and okay :)
