Heyo everyone!
So I decided to enter Jazza's Challenge of the month for the first time, and of all things the theme was to make a traditional piece using untraditional items! Its been almost a year since I did some traditional but I thought I'd give it a go anyway ahaha.
So I went for an untraditional character design, where I combined a sakura tree with a cat and a mage!
I was thinking about what stains things, so I decided to go with tea and fruits! (The method is in the process link)
As an added bonus it smells like strawberries ahahaha
Sorry if shes a little exposed or something, I only realised I went a bit overboard when I showed my friend after it was finished, and then freaked out that I might not be able to submit it. My excuse is that shes a nature spirit and doesn't care about that sort of thing ahahaha I'm sorry. But not really.
Regardless, I had a ton of fun, and I'm really happy with how she turned out, so thanks for hosting this contest Jazza!

That looks awesome, only thing that seems a little off to me is right above her corset. I am not entirely sure if corsets do that to the extra skin around the top and bottom, been awhile since I last wore a corset for anything.

The flowers and staff are beautiful. I think with the staff, I would have tried giving it a more plant-like look and maybe incorporate sakura blossom petals more into the design.

Otherwise, very nicely done. Nya~

Thanks for the feedback! : D
Yeah, I showed her to a friend afterwards and they thought the dress probably doesn't make sense logically, and I totally agree.
I'll use the power of anime magic to pretend it would stay up like that ahaha
With the staff too, that's a really good suggestion, looking back it could have been cooler.
Thanks again for the feedback, nya xD

Thinking back, I probably should've made use of those cherries that were on my desk to add a little umph. There's a lot of control in your technique with the application of colors. Though subtle, you can still make out the shading.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

remiiko responds:

Thanks so much, I'm glad you like her! : D
Haha, give them a try next time!
It was actually my first real watercolour piece so Im really surprised it looked alright in the end ahaha
I really appreciate the feedback, thanks again : )
