Twins

Another older one and a little out-of-synch with my current style in a lot of ways, but I thought I'd put it up anyways because it's a little bit closer to my actual paintings.

A friend and I used to have weekly drawing challenges with each other based on a theme that one of us would chose, mainly just to motivate us to produce when we had nothing spurning us on. The idea was that we each had a week to create something of any dimensions and medium as long as it stayed connected to the chosen theme in some way. Anyways, the whole thing didn't end up lasting very long, but we had a couple good outcomes and she chose the "twins" theme for this round.

This was another image that's more of a digital collage than anything else. I drew the crows and lightpost on paper, and layered ink-on-paper textures in the backgrounds with different tints to each layer in order to create the texture of the sky. A lot of work for a relatively simple outcome but I've never been able to get the same kinds of effects in painter or photoshop that you can easily get in real life with an ink brush.

That's life. Blah Blah Blah.

Loved the loneliness of those crows<3

Pure simple and beauty. And i like crows.

Simplicity can easily beat even the most complex paintings. I like the layered sky too.

One word to descibre: Awesome...

The fact that it seems simple makes it complex...
Awesome work...
