i just thought i'd post this up, its line art of one of my OCs, took me 3 hours just to get this done and the line work is horrible =( i fail. a fully colored piece with a background will be out sometime later on, trying to improve my digital skills since i am still fairly new to this.

Considering you're still new as to what you said I think you're doing pretty good. Just make sure you're able to control the depth, as long as you get the contrast right, and we're able to distinguish foreground from background you be okay.

Use shade and highlights to your advantage, it'll help shape the composition.

Yeah I understand shading and highlights, just using the tools and the layers, I get overwhelmed. End up drawing on the wrong layer. And I already am to far along to just undo what I did, where am I going with this? Lol I haven't slept I apologize if none of this makes any sense.

What is it that bugs you about the line work? if it's how rough the lines are, just spend some more time cleaning up the lines. For three hours this is pretty damn good, there are probably people out there who couldn't make something this good if they had all the time in the world.

I guess, but I had to enlarge the canvas, and my line art is still shakey, my lines aren't confident I always have to go over them. I mean if I had all the time in the world, itll look much better than it does now, but for now I just must keep practicing.

Well all the bad vibes I get from people, not on newgrounds but the traditional stuff.. Oh why do you draw anime, draw in a different style or something, anime is too mainstream. I and besides that it's like " oh that's nice" or just "kool". That kills me everytime. Honestly, I think my art sucks and I'm improving on it, I have confidence but I'm not where I want to be at in skill.
