Deirdre

Share

Deirdre flying over the Dak's enchanted forest, Kuurhak.

"The goddess Yiih, the protector of Freya, yearned for a champion worthy enough to watch over the lands alongside her. So she created a champion from half of her power, in the image of her. That champion was born into the Yiih, the people below the goddess, that was made by Yiih's sister, Urr. And over time the champion was banished from the lands, and the goddess Yiih cried out to her people, to stop their decision. But the Yiih could not hear her cries, they didn't want to. The Yiih had built a massive tower, so that their goddess could watch over the lands, herself. As they did not want to, they just wanted to survive in the cold lands that they were born into.

Yiih watched as her champion murdered, wept, and lived their short life. Yiih was saddened by her champion's death, but noticed that the champion was born again in another. Her child. Yiih thought of a way to gain her champion back, she used the rest of her power to create a dragon. A massive serpent that'd bring her love, back to her. But when Deirdre was created, the Yiih had seen her overhead, and shot her down with arrows. The chieftain had seen that the goddess was up to something, but only thought of a ploy to destroy his people. So he slashed the beast with his enchanted blade, and made Deirdre blind on her right side. Deirdre became enraged, and slaughtered most of the Yiih.

Deirdre was filled with a blood lust for generations, and over time forgot her purpose. And then she became happy with Freya, she loved watching the three tribes grow, and she wanted to help them. So she sucked the dead essence from the core of Freya into her being. And vented the spirits into the lakes near the tribes, creating life for the tribes to hunt and grow. So that they'd never be hungry.

The champion's blood made it to the Uur, and over time went back to the Yiih, and eventually to the Dak. Thus the Guhn'har bloodline was created."

-- The goddess Uur, retelling the story of Deirdre to her people.
