The Legend of the Axe

Share

Hey #Prettygeeks and followers of Jazza!
This month's contest involved the legendary ax that Jazza designed, Bill built irl, and a story of our own creation to tell the story of the ax itself.

When I saw the ax I thought right away that the wee portion was so cute, and the way that Bill used different metal finishes in combining them made me think that perhaps the ax wasn't always a single piece, but instead something that a grieving father had created by combining the ax he had made for his young son, Roderick, with his battle worn ax, turning into a soul weapon. I feel that I included a lot of awesome, really subtle details (like the reflection of the soul in the eyes, the change in the father's eye colours, etc.) If the early colours look familiar-they should! I'm a bit of a completionist, so I wanted to connect the idea of Rodina (the little girl) from the Hero and Pet challenge so we could find out a bit of backstory of where her family is and why she's interested in becoming a hero herself.
