i agree the green hair throws it off, i also dont love the idea of him being in mid air but i do like how the visor or mask is partially transparent
phew.. some tiny Art I made for a postcard to send it to a good friend of mine. Just some fun to waste time and money. It's one of my original characters. Actually he comes out of a giant rainforest, thats the reason for the green hair, which isn't so optimal for the setting and used colors. (Yeah, the green really disturbs me! It doesn't fit with the color scheme...bwargh!) But my friend wished a motive with him, so I had no other choice.
As usual I didn't use any references. Refs are good for practising, of course, but.. yeah. I don't like it. Thats me. :)
Original size ca. 4,2 x 3,2 inch.
I just wanted to draw some space-like thing, so.. yeah. At least I like the result. Especially for first time drawing such things.
Hope you like it.
Traditional media makes getting right highlights (especially the helmet!) much more difficult.
Done with watercolor, Copic-marker, acrylic white and little use of colored pencil on 300g/mÃ'² watercolor-paper.
Probably I will upload single steps taken together in a WIP soon.
Greetings
