In a land that never was, in a time that could never be, where wars were had, there once lived a brave man armored in white. An excellent warrior who fought countless wars, armed with a sword that pierced through any army and a shield that faced men, beasts and the unknown. His figure meant hope for his people, glory for his land, he quickly came to be known as the the deadliest man alive. For many, this warrior was sent by the gods themselves as a gift for their people, there were even rumors of him being a demi-god. But he was only human, only mortal.

A monument was built to honor the deceased hero's body, but from under it emerged what can only be described as a monster.
An obsidian black beast with scales where once was skin and a blue fire inside his chest where once was his brave heart. A fire that is said to only be lit by the souls he now ruthlessly seeks to devour and cease his hunger, if only for one more day. He, who once took so many lives in the name of his people, now hunts them down, unstoppable. Heaven sent. Hell bent.

So... this something up there didn't want me to finish this. The planning was going really well, then everything kind of started to hit me out of nowhere: stolen folder with drawings (eventually got it back from who "found" it, luckily), then there's no internet, then my laptop broke, among other things. And tbh this... this isn't quite finished. But I did try, hard, it's definitely the best I managed to get to with the time left, it's 4:32 am atm. The lineart, however, is 100% finished, I can be proud of the lineart, Yay? It's ballpoint pen by the way, scanned and already uploaded.

EDIT: I just realised, as I was saving Photoshop apparently decided to screw with my finished file too! look at that glorious quality. Absolutely fantastic, I'm so done lol.

RADICOOL!! Like the story, too!

Quite the story you got there, both of the picture and how it was made. Though it is unfinished and has a placeholder, it is still pretty great, an effort was clearly made.

PkBlitz responds:

I honestly had forgotten about this whole thing! I remembered I made it for a Jazza COTM, but I didn't remember the process and the sheer amount of suffering it involved, lol. I also forgot about the backstory, it's weird and interesting because I feel like someone else wrote it. I kinda dig it a little bit.

I really like drawing monsters, I should give this one another shot in the future or make something similar. If I have time. Oh, time, if only you were kinder...

This is lovely! I was super disappointed that the background is a photo, though- it's all that's holding this back from perfection.

PkBlitz responds:

Yep. The placeholder background became, unfortunately, the background... things didn't go as planned, like I said in the description, but next time I hope to be in better control of my own piece and be able to paint it a week or more in advance instead of a night before.
