This is my first attempt at pixel art from scratch. When I was younger version of myself, I used to screencap games using emulators and then import them to a Win 95 version of MS Paint to mess around with the various pixels on, for instance, the Super Mario Bros. 2 front-end (menu). I would then twist and bend the hapless characters' appearance (and will) as I saw fit, using pixel magic and a crap-ton of patience to make Mario look more like a pimp than a plumber, and to make Peach look more like a product of the pimpin' industry. Back then I would just take other people's pixel art and mangle it in ways I deemed comical, but it turns out that I somehow retained certain tricks of the pixel-art trade, like shading and dithering. I guess I was kind of like Mark Wahlburg's character in "The Good Guys", where he learned ballet just so he could make fun of ballet dancers. Anyway, I don't think this turned out too bad, considering that I can't draw a decent stick figure.
