Isosurface Skull

Share

I finished a project for my Scientific Visualization class. I was required to take an input file containing a list of values (scalar field) and produce interesting isosurface images. Done using C++ & g++ compiler. The report can be found here:

Dude, you actually made this yourself? I have to compare this to the picture of the marbles you made earlier. While this wasn't as good as that, this was still great to look at. It seems just like something you would get from an actual X-ray image! I have seen some, you know. In fact, my mom used to work as an X-ray technician before she had me.

It seems like there was a lot of detail put into every crevice. I think you did a pretty accurate job with the teeth. I would know this because I was just at the dentist's office a few weeks ago. It might be hard to believe that teeth are that long, but they are like that. The colors were kind of strange.

That is very cool!

How long did it take you to make that?

Pikanjo responds:

Well.. to write the program took ~12 hours. To render this single image was probly over 12 hours. But it also took me hours to find a function value range and good transfer function settings to use.
