Heavily inspired by a little Armored Core 2 map and a bit of Homeworld 2, the background structure a little bit of Protoss and Halo, this illustration is all-around video game inspired.

Done for my Digital Imaging I class, this was originally supposed to be my second alien landscape piece, and while I don't know if it exactly fits the criteria of an alien landscape, it did develop into something I'm genuinely proud of making. I'm trying my hand in making things look massive, and even if I don't pull off that illusion perfectly, it was still a good exercise.

Epic!

I loved that map, too bad after I got Armored Core: Last Raven that #2 lost it's flair. And honestly, IT LOOKS PRETTY MASSIVE! Adding the guys in the orange snowsuits was a brilliant idea, otherwise I'm not sure if we would get the picture quite so well. Very well done!

Sweet!

The shading and details on this piece are phenomenal! I love being able to clearly see all the wreckage on that huge ship - which, by the way, really does look absolutely huge the way you drew it.

The blur effect on the ship is nicely balanced - it's not so blurry that you can't make out the details, but it's definitely not as crisp at the foreground, and yet, all those details are still visible. I actually think it would look a bit nicer if the ship was sliiiiiightly more blurry, but it still looks great as is!

I can say pretty much the same thing about the structure behind the ship - I know this is a really minor and almost insignificant detail, but the little lines on the window of the dome to the right of the blue light look a little out of place, since they're so sharp and the structure is so blurred. But everything else is great! The mountains look really cool with the blue light touching them. Also, the mountain on the left looks like it should be a bit blurrier...

And that's all I've got to say! Awesome work. :D

Big, but not 'massive'...

The two yellow characters make the space in the image look very big, but the foreground details sort of ruin the illusion. Specifically, the hair-like things that protrude away from the audience toward the crash are not structured like the 10-foot-long objects they would need to be if those two characters are human. Also, the shelf they are standing on looks almost like a book. It's too defined to be massive.

Otherwise, you pulled off the illusion of hugeness perfectly. The perspective is awesome, letting us know that everything not in the foreground is far away and colossal. Excellent work: only the foreground needs improvement.
