"There I did it!" You praise yourself cold sand between your toes.
Looking up panic crosses your face.
"How deep am I? What was I thinking!?" Lungs burning you push off the ocean floor. Scrambling with one arm after the other. Your movements begin to slow vision blurring. Darkness tugs at the corner of your eyes the suns light becoming more prominent. It feels like yours lungs are full of lead trying to drag you to certain death. They force your mouth open reaching for air that isn't there. The ocean tastes salty and burns your lungs. Your perception hindered you futilely reach as if your hand might break the surface. The last morsels of air from your lungs tickle your fingers in passing. Coldly the ocean embraces you. A thought hangs on the fringe of your mind....
