Follow the Leader: RemnantComic (GIF)

Share

This is the fourth image in my follow the leader series.

Based off of RemnantComic's http://remnantcomic.deviantart.com/art/The-Remnant-Strength-Within-Pride-Without-523568697

From what I've seen, RemnantComic is a webcomic artist who runs his webcomic, "The Remnant", on DeviantArt. He's got well over 50 pages and is still going strong. I hope you'll check out his gallery if you haven't already (he is rather popular on this site), but please keep in mind that his gallery does contain some erotic artwork.

All lines and colors were drawn using Clip Studio Paint.

The biggest obstacle for this animation was managing all of that free-flowing cloth with the ruffles. I've continuously stressed consistency as being an obstacle in animation, but making them bounce as the character moves up and down was quite the challenge. In fact, it's times like these I realize why Ace Attorney avoided animating Edgeworth's ruffles as much as possible. Just look how much live-action Edgeworth's ruffles wiggle when he's angry: 25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9y…

The second biggest obstacle was keeping the focus on Liviana's (the girl doing pull-ups) animation rather than the other two characters. In the end, I just decided to keep most of the animation towards the center. It helps keep the eye focused on Liviana over anything else in the piece.

Disclaimer:

The "Follow the Leader" series is an ongoing series. It's where I take an artist's static illustration (based on my own choice) and animate it. Please note that the illustrations are used as reference and my animations will attempt to follow the original artist's design but not a one-to-one reconstruction. Afterwards, I discuss some of the obstacles involved in animating it and how I overcame those obstacles.

Love the flow

I love the flow of animation here everything flowed so fluidly and just looked realistic like the flow of the sandles and the skirt bounced as the lift of the pull ups worked it's way through so very nice animation on this as for any improvements maybe more animation from the standing two charchters but you have some nice work here and some nice skills here so keep up the good work on this one

~~SUGGESTED IDEAS~~
Some small added animation

~X~

PaddleTone responds:

I didn't want the two girls overshadowing the girl doing pull ups, but I'll remember this for next time!
