Ol' Pete

Share

Two pencil drawings of my neighbour Pete. Picture references, no tracing, 4-5" tall each. All in 2B pencil. (Just so there's no questions)

They maybe took about 3-4? I don't like the larger one as much..

Also there is another one to complete the 'set', like frames of him walking, but it's gone so oh well.

Proportions be damned

I was going to agree with the reviewer below, however, I came to realize that it's the essence of the man that's IS right about these pieces. Sure, the legs look a little short, but the overall "feel" is absolutely fantastic. Very well done. I stopped my rating short at an 8 because I believe in having SOME kind of background. Maybe a shadow, maybe just one tree. It just grounds the piece. With that being said, I think that the piece could REALLY capture a Norman Rockwell esque feeling of familiarity in the candid. Thanks for sharing!

Otto responds:

Ahh I tell you what, when I get my pieces back when I go back to college (high school) then I will bring the piece with the background, but I don't have it at the moment. :)

And thankyou for the review!

YEAH!

i Like them! the proportions are a little off, but this give a nice cartoon feel, with a realistic style, AWSOME!

Otto responds:

Thanks man! Yeah the proportions are partly me and partly that when I took the pictures his shins downward were missing so I tried to make it up and got his legs a bit short I think. Still he had these insanely wide trouser legs anyway that flapped around too hahaha
