I just say: outstanding, BUT i give you 9 'cause I would like to see sharper shadows (not so faded) in this piece. Anyway, excellent use of colors.

...that was an emoticon of my jaw hitting the floor. Ordinarily, a great picture has decent characteristics, and one or two characteristics that jump out as particularly awesome. This, however, is awesome in almost every way. I love the details and the shading, which look amazing. Textures work extremely well, except on his chest (front pocket and buttons work, but they don't look as awesome as everything else is all I'm saying). I know that the character design was meant to resemble your friend, but nonetheless it works brilliantly. The abstract background elements are hauntingly dark and mysterious, as is the symbolism of the emptying tea cup and the facial expression of the character.
The overall atmosphere seems very dark and Tim-Burton-esque, but also very blunt and aggressive. Very awesome!
