Not based on anything.

Originally this was a sketch, but then I decided that I wanted to make this a full image.
Things that bother me:

-the shadow doesn't align to the character well enough.
-the textures are bad (the wood, sand, and sky looks bad, a really smooth kind of bad)
-perspective still is not great (far stuff looks bad)
-anatomy isn't great (head specifically)
-coloring isn't great (shading and highlighting)
-line-work is garbage (I could not figure out how i wanted lines to look)

Overall, okay result.
