death has its ways

I only have one small annoyance with this picture and that is the way that the scythe is drawn. The scythe's blade in particular looks like it was hastily drawn and not as much care was taken to make it look like it fits in with the drawing style of the rest of the picture. Perhaps it's because the width of some of the lines in the blade seems a little more broad than the finer lines in the nearby skull. Constructive criticism out of the way, I think that you should be EXTREMELY proud of the bittersweet look that Death seems to convey! It looks like it feels the sorrow of your own death, but there's also a bit of comfort as it guides you to your (hopefully happy) fate in the afterlife. The blood on the scythe seems to suggest that, should you be one of the damned, Death will use its tool on you if you try to defy it and it WILL win. I can easily imagine its "face" conveying a much darker look in such a situation. One final detail that I like are the blackened tips of the fingers. There are stories where the personification of death merely touches someone and it's enough to kill that person. It would make sense for this "death touch" to cause the skin around the fingers to die and then rot and wither into a blackened state. I don't know if that was your intention, but I like it anyways. I hope that I'm not creeping anyone out with all of this romanticism about death, I just think that, while the occasional badass-style angel of death is cool, it's also nice to see Death depicted in a way that tells us, "Don't fear the Reaper." Be proud of this piece of work, Omega Black, and thank you for sharing it with us.

this is great! love the details

Reminds me of lovely mix of Pan's labyrinth and HellBoy. Exquisite, it's dark and beautiful at the same time.

The textures are just so good.
