Very Comforting
The muted colors make this piece brilliant, and I love the fact that this reminds me of some sort of fluent literary adventure. I can almost see "playing the violin at nighttime" as the second verse or as the last verse of multiple stanzas in a poem. I'd actually really like to hang this on my wall, but the space in between the text and the edges of the piece wouldn't give much allowance for a frame, which is where I would like to see this ending up :D
Thank you for that nice comment :)

Completely awesome
I love it. Splendid composition, great idea, and all wonderfully executed. The muted colors are kind of hit or miss for me, and the text is unessecary and hurts the overall piece. Also while the choice of colors is excellent I feel as thought the brown is out of place. Not so much the actual color, maybe its just the light shading that works against the rest of the piece? Oh and the human face on the monster takes away from the emotional aspect. Where it could have been something thought provoking and comfortably unsettling and reflective, it mearly becomes a semi-bland (self?) portrait that lacks the emotional feelings that this piece seems to try to convey. I understand how this fact on its own could be more powerful, but the execution of it is.... lacking. The chibi-esque manga style of the face completely contradicts the rest of the monster and makes it look like a man in a cheesy monster suit rather than a monster with a human face or a human who is visually reflecting his opinion or mindset of himself. Maybe this was the point? Regardless it was a great concept though some ideas were lacking or contradictory and therefor irrelevant. I give this an 8 out of 10 because it is a brilliant illustration with minor but noticable design flaws.
Thank you very much, I'm always glad to get some criticism and feedback. And I think you are really right with most of what you said. I'll try to improve it next time. :)
