Around 100 hours of time (plus at least 15 hours of hardcore research xP)

Also, I'm just really happy with the way this piece turned out! But at the same time I'm aware of how much amazing art is out there and how much better I can become. It's all a process though, and this is my first "All digital" piece. Gotta start somewhere, things are what they are.

Hopefully I didn't go too overboard with the detail . . . we'll see what people think . . . and I would love to here what you think as well!

edit 4/16/11: So I got some really good advice on how to make this piece better, so I went back and re-painted a few things. I've gotten so much better. . .

I still want to make this piece even better too. . . I really want to get good at space art. Once I do, I'll have to come back to this and make it look like she's ACTUALLY in space, the way I originally wanted.

Amazing...

As an artist myself of a short period of time I am in awe of the time and skill this must have taken. However I would like to see a little more detail or clarity in the body and especially the face. Other than that WOW!

well, damn!

damn it, i wish there was a 9.5 button! Well, here's my review, the artwork is amazing, the attention to detail is marvelous, but, and here is my 22-years-in-the-field opinion, (i am an art critic and the son of two very, famous artists) the whole thing is stunning, at a glance, once you start to examine, you realize, well, its actually really good! and it is, except for one, unfortunate thing, the face, i'm sorry, but, the one thing you have to make absolutely perfect in this sort of painting, is the face, and, well, it just, isn't. But overall, great job mate, your talents are certainly, obvious. :)
