Darkness Fan Art (1998) Oil paint on illustration board
20 x 30 (51 x 77 cm)
Remastered 2009 with Corel Painter 11, 5277 x 3500
So it took me around 7 hours to remaster this with Painter. The original oil painting took me around 120 hours back in the day. And I had always been kind of frustrated with the result, especially since this was one of my better oil paintings. Going over this with Painter has been like therapy for my soul. It's SO easy to fix and change all the things I've wanted to, plus I'm like, a thousand times better at art in general now.
7 hours to make a painting that took 120 hours look 300% better? Not bad. Not bad at all.
And that being said, it was also kind of painful to remaster this as well, just because, once again, I'm so much better now. Plus I'm not really that big of a fan anymore. But that's OK, I just did it as fast as I could. The just add water blender brush is AMAZING!
I thought I would leave this in my main gallery for now. I know it's not as good as my other stuff, but just the scale of it is kind of epic.
The darkness belong to whatever comic book company owns it now. It was Topcow/Image.
