Something random I did in Photoshop for a bit of fun. I could have spent more time on it and made it better, but I quite like how it turned out anyway.

Again, the colors in your work are really good. Not as vibrant or interweaving as "Mike's" but still attractive nonetheless.

What really helped me get into this one was the reflection. It gives the picture a sense of depth and just adds to the work overall, and the fact that it's a little blurred improves it's realism.

"psychedelic colors"

date: July 8, 2009

Good job with this one man, really looks awesome. Though I really love the psychedelic colors you used, it made this piece seem very interesting and colorful, good job with that.

Though if there was one thing I didnt like about this piece it would be the ground the thing you drew sat on, it just didnt see right to me. Though the reflection was very well done and amde the picture look even better.

Good job with this one man, 5/5 from me, keep up the good work! :)

"Just like we used to make :)"

When I was at school as a kid (We're talking almost 20 years ago now, WTF?!) we used to do pictures like this - coloured background in wax crayon, then paint over the top in black poster paint. Next day, take a matchstick, or other blunt wooden implement and scratch out the detail you want, which is then picked out in many colours.

But this is much more! It's got a reflection, it's got degrees of focus, between Colin himself and the background and it's got a hell of a lot more skill than a seven year old can produce in school :P

Man, you're one underrated artist - do you do any otehr styles, or just the psychedelic shadow puppets?

"Looks nice"

date: July 7, 2009

I think this looks nice. The colors are pretty psychadelic but they also go along well with each other.

I like the reflections in the image, but I think the "reflection line" is too visible. It would be nicer if it was more subtle, maybe with only a slight color change at first and then slowly change the colors more (ie you change the color from yellow to orange immediatly, but I think a slower change would look better here).

The part where you used a "ground" for him to sit on didn't look very good in my opinion. I think it should have been a bit more solid or not there at all. I'm thinking not there at all would actually make this look a little bit better. The reflection was kind of cool though and really isn't something that you could have without the ground being there, but I also think the picture could have done without it. Don't get me wrong though the reflection looks good, but could have also looked good without it at all.

I don't know wtf the picture is of, but it's kind of cool nevertheless. The blurred background makes the character stick out more and the colors used were pretty cool in my opinion. I do think the character could be a little bit more round though as the straight lines didn't look the best.

Overall, and odd piece, but not terrible. Had trouble between giving it a 6 or a 7, but being terrible and not knowing the most about art I'll give it a 7.

"Mike was much better"

date: July 6, 2009

By making it more figurative, you've ruined the illusion, in my opinion. There is too much negative space taken up by the blurred background, which doesn't look great.

The character is pretty bad too. I don't like the combination of curved and straight lines, and the lack of symmetry bugs me.

There is no need to place him on the ground, I don't think. You could have had him floating with no ground visible, and it would have been just as good, if not better.

There are too many filters and effects going on here for my liking.

"Alright, NEVR"

Well you're my first art review ever, so I'll do my best to give you some good input. You clearly have a lot of talent in making a picture really pop out at the viewer. The reflection on the ground is really where you show some great talent, and the background colors mixed in with the actual color of the character itself are spectacular. You clearly have a great ability with art!

~Basic Idea~
The basic idea of this piece of work is very unique. The way you made the colors work with the black and backround is amazing.

~Colors~

~Overall~

"Psychadellic"

by: SCTE3
date: July 3, 2009

It looks and feels almost as if someone were to be tripping on acid for some reason. I can see a face in it and a tail or is that a handle, the background and main pice in the center looks very beautiful NEVR. This could possibly be something that a lot of users would appreciate and like very much.

Wonderful job NEVR, I like it. :-)
