There's No NE-69 to Bread

This strange quote came from my cousin after he saw the original version of this picture. I didn't understand it at first so in order to explain I'll take the words right out of his mouth!
"There's no NE-69(new expressway-69) to bread(the substances we need to live, thrive). This represents that being able to provide your needs and wants(bread) for yourself, let alone others, is a road not easily traveled by. The skull representing the lack of an NE-69 is what kills us, or perhaps the NE-69 is the road to death. The glowing fuscia represents a soul confined in a three dimensional prison"
