Egads i'm behind in my submission!!

Anyway I was bored and never attempted a actually gun related weapon before....seriously!! i loved making this thing. I played on my abstract concept of thought very well.

also much to my mega happiness i actually figured out how to apply glow effects in Kerkythea on glass based materials as per the crystal it is actually glowing!!

This took maybe 3 hours to make in Wings3D and 18 hours to render in Kerkythea which shocks me because whenever i do anything self illumination related the renderer takes a shit for atleast 1 1/2 o 2 days to finish rendering.

Also about the trigger placement before you have a chance to nitpick me for it. its designed to be held from the handle and then pulled like a lever instead of pulled like a gun trigger. this thing has recoil so you need a good grasp.

Anywho please enjoy.
Also if your wondering what a zapgun is. think Lazer beam gun and you have your gun.

In a slightly off topic relation to the image he's what floated in my head while i made this.
link to the comic series Buck Godot Zapgun for hire.
incredibly humorous read you should look into!!

it may seem outlandish at first but i assure you its full of good humor and lots of ass kicking by a muscular fat guy.

very good 3d art!

I am a 3d artist as well and really recognize how much work goes into these kinds of things. There are very good materials on the gem and also the copper part but in my opinion the barrel is a little bit plain. I don't know what software you are using but perhaps you could increase the specularity and add a bump map. even just adding another light just to illumenate the barrel might be good so that you get really good highlights. like you said it is supposed to be really shiny. also the trigger appears to be backwards. the curve should face the other way. great art!
