Avatar Korra, for those of you who've seen the show.
And for those that haven't? WATCH IT.

She's always most associated with waterbending, and I wanted to do something more along the lines of chiaroscuro (high light/dark contrast) than an actual cartoon version of her. The downside was that is took a lot longer than I thought. Around twenty/thirty hours over two weeks.

Oh well, it was a learning experience, I'd love to do other characters in this style for fire, air and earth. Maybe metal? Hunoes.

Photoshop CS6 and Wacom Intuos 4.

Interesting. I liked the style of the features and effects. Just thought I should put water or anything in her hand.

Nambread responds:

I didn't want to since every other korra pic out there has her bending some element, I wanted to do a pose that was sort of inbetween the bending stances. The movement of the different styles is awesome, but also very hard to get right in a static image.

really great...not much of a fan of the series(meaning I know nothing) but I would be if the characters looked like this

Nambread responds:

Thanks! Although the new series is actually a lot more mature looking than the old one, if kids running around to save the world isn't exactly your thing aha.
