Aria, Jewel of the Maeodim

Share

"The humans have gone, the buildings they left behind have been reclaimed by the forests over centuries of abondonment.
Where did they go? What happened to them?
The Maeodim try to find the answer, with the ability to share the memories of the stones and bricks of these derelict cities.
Aria is the most gifted of them all, daughter of the tribe chief, she strives to discover the mystery of their disappearance from the planet.
Once she uncovers the truth however, she will never see her world in the same way again.
This is her story."

Pretty ambitious project I just started. A short animation based on this is the girl, who is described in the short trailer-style story.
Put it up here to see what people thought of her design and the background to it. Kept it simple so it's easier to animate. No idea when it'll be finished, but keep your eyes open! You can bet your breeches I'll be uploading onto here when it's done.

Awesome

Forget Kavinello and Daveb0tt
They trolled on my art too...

This is beautiful, Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!!

Nambread responds:

Yeah I thought they'd been trolling in pairs around newgrounds for a while.
I'd like to believe their accounts were hacked, but maybe they're just c*nts :P
Thanks for the compliment though!

Nicely Done

Not sure what's up with the comments below, but I think this is a really good piece right here. I would have liked to see more of a background (ruins of a city, forest, etc), but that's just me. Good job! Curious though, what program(s) did you use?

Nambread responds:

Yeah I know exactly what you mean, a ruined city would have just made this so much better, but it's for a deadline, and I didn't have time to spend that extra couple of days on it. I'll definately revamp it later on though. Used photoshop for the whole thing, just started experimenting with what the program could do for me, turns out an awful lot :D
