Had 12 other people do art trades with me and in return I would draw their character in this huge project I started for the end of the world. So next year, if we survive, I'll be doing another huge picture with loads of people's characters.

I used Photoshop CS6 program and a Wacom Cintiq 12wx.
All together I've spent 1,100 because I got the production suite from Adobe which comes with several other programs that I use.
But if you practice a lot you can get this same effect with SAI (A free program) and a Bamboo Tablet for around $40.
I've spent as much as I have because I work better with a cintiq and I've studied Photoshop and I got a discount for the programs because I go to an art school.
You can get SAI by if you google it and I'm sure there's a site that can let you download it. And the tablet can be purchased at Ebay or Amazon or Best Buy if they have them.
