I think this is creative. It caught my eye because of the colors. There is that bright rainbow and a darker background. That really made the rainbow blood POP!

First off let me say that i love your mark-making. How anyone gets that kind of texture and consistency with colored pencils is beyond me. To me, this piece has an amazing amount of depth. Suicide and self destruction meet happy magical rainbow colors. The subject looked just as surprised as me. Only thing i didnt care for is that the background was obviously not colored in the same direction(in some areas you went up and down, others left and right, and others you did diagonal) But maybe that's just the OCD in me . Keep it up.

I like the contrast between the rainbow and the background, using a dark purple instead of solid black.
Not too simple, nor too complex.

I'm not joking right now when I say I'm drolling. And you say you made that with a pen and a colored pencil. I really like the Idea, I'm a big "colorful" drawing fan. The world would be a better place with more color. Well Nice Job and that must have taken a lot of work to create.
