I redid one of my original drawings in Illustrator for my 2D animation class. The original is here:

The inspiration for this came from my Japanese friends. Most of them are part of the English Speaking Society (ESS) in Nara, so last June they organized an event where the members formed 3 acting groups to perform 3 acts in English. One of the acts was based on the Studio Ghibli film Kiki's Delivery Service. I saw some photos of the event, and one of the pictures was of a bicycle prop with a caption in Japanese saying "The bicycle made by Tonbo". I had never seen the movie before then and didn't know what "tonbo" meant, so when I looked it up I ended up with "dragonfly".

It was only until recently when I finally watched Kiki's Delivery Service that I realized my mistranslation (Tonbo/Tombo is the name of a human character), so I decided to redraw this.
