My first model in 3ds Max. A WiP version.
Will get better metal textures once it will be needed for my animations.

You probably think this is an ak47,but it's not. It's an ak74u. Basically a more compact version of the Kalashnikov series.
Anyways for your first 3d model this very good :)

its a good model but unless you making it cartoony make the barrel little longer and the wooden part where you grip(dont know the term) make it longer and make it thinner nice job tho

Author's Response:

everything in this model is the same as in the original so why should i make anything longer? thx 4 your comment

"this is your first model?"

date: June 19, 2009

Multi/sub-object materials, smoothing groups, bump maps, and lighting all on your first model?

Wow, took it a hell of a lot further than I did for my first model.

What's the poly/tri count on that?Think you could post some wires too?

Looks pretty good to me from what's here though. Keep it up

Author's Response:

"Wicked Texturing job!"

date: June 19, 2009

I am aware that this is a work in progress, but I still love the textures thatr you used for the wooden part and the metal part of the gun. Also love how the barrel is made.

June 19, 2009

Author's Response:

Thx, the wood is from cgtextures.com and the metal texture was made in max, i've just added some noise to the material and streched it.
